Maldives Islands in the Indian Ocean

The world’s lowest-lying nation rises barely four-feet above sea level (at its highest point, a mere eight-feet), and fans over the Indian Ocean in wide, flat circles of blindingly white sand. The Maldives are nestled halfway between Indonesia and Africa in the Indian Ocean.

I love how the coconut trees here curve out over the water. The coconut tree is one of the symbols of the Maldivian emblem. They are the only natural shade protection of Maldives beaches. Trees can grow up to 30 meters and reach the age of 100 years.

Imagine crystal-clear water stretching to the horizon, its color shifting from turquoise to deep blue depending on the sun's angle. Powdery white sand feels soft between your toes, while lush palm trees frame the stunning scenery.
