Twelve Apostles - Australia

art_302.jpg

The Twelve Apostles is a collection of limestone stacks off the shore of Port Campbell National Park, by the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia.

The iconic limestone stacks rise dramatically from the ocean, each with its unique shape and character. Imagine the power of nature sculpting these majestic forms over millions of years. The vast Southern Ocean stretches before you, its waves crashing against the rocks with a rhythmic power. The sound of the ocean adds another dimension to the experience, creating a sense of awe and respect for its raw force.

The play of light and shadow on the rocks throughout the day creates a dynamic scene. Sunsets are particularly breathtaking, painting the sky and water in vibrant hues of orange, red, and purple, casting long shadows on the Apostles.

Photographers Tip: We hung around for a while after sunset and saw hundreds of the small Fairy Penguins on the beach below. It is an amazing experience seeing the penguins in their natural habitat, making their way ashore.
